US DFC approves EUR 85 million loan to DTEK to expand energy storage
The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has approved a loan of EUR 85 million (about USD 97.5 million at USD 1 = EUR 0.8721) to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company. The money will go to expanding energy storage capacity, DFC and DTEK said on Wednesday. It is the largest DFC loan to Ukraine's energy sector since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022.
More than 100 healthcare facilities now generate electricity under the Ray of Hope project
More than 100 healthcare facilities in 23 regions of Ukraine are already generating their own electricity thanks to solar plants installed under the Ray of Hope project. The initiative is coordinated by the Energy Community Secretariat and implemented by the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
New solar plant commissioned at Chornobyl NPP with support from UNDP, Lithuania and Japan
A new 2 MW photovoltaic power plant has started operating at the Chornobyl NPP industrial site. It will serve as an additional backup power source for the New Safe Confinement (NSC). The completion of construction was marked with an official ceremony on 9 September.
